Samurai Cat Armor Haori Kimono

An ukiyo-e style samurai cat in full red armor, katana at the ready, framed by peach blossoms on the back of a black haori. It is playful, but drawn with real woodblock-print detail, from the lacing on the armor to the petals.

The design

Samurai armor was built from lacquered plates laced together with silk cord, and some famous units wore all-red armor to look fearsome on the battlefield. Putting that armor on a cat is pure ukiyo-e humor. The peach blossoms add a classic East Asian symbol of long life and protection against evil. More about the haori in what is a haori.
