What is a sukajan?
A sukajan (スカジャン) is an embroidered Japanese souvenir jacket. The style was born in Yokosuka after 1945, when local tailors stitched dragons, tigers and koi onto satin bomber jackets for American sailors — the name comes from “Yokosuka jumper”.
Yokosuka Supply Co. brings that tradition to Japanese streetwear today: embroidered sukajan, haori kimono jackets, hakama pants, hoodies and tees, shipped free to the United States.
