Named after the port town where the sukajan was born, this Yokosuka jacket pairs a full dragon back panel with green satin sleeves and a V-neck rib collar. The green gives the classic dragon sukajan a fresh, slightly retro edge that few souvenir jackets have.
The design
Green has its own place in dragon lore. In East Asian cosmology the Azure Dragon, Seiryū, guards the east and is tied to spring, new growth and the color of young leaves. That makes green sleeves a fitting frame for a creature already linked with water, wisdom and good fortune. The embroidery is stitched, not printed, so the scales have real depth.
